1. Carat (Karat)

Carat beschreibt das Gewicht eines Diamanten.
• 1 Karat = 0,2 Gramm.
• Je höher das Karatgewicht, desto seltener und meist teurer der Diamant.
• Karat beschreibt das Gewicht – nicht die Größe.
Merksatz: Carat = Gewicht, nicht Größe.

2. Cut (Schliff)

Der Schliff beschreibt, wie präzise ein Diamant geschliffen wurde.
Ein hervorragender Schliff reflektiert das Licht optimal und sorgt für maximale Brillanz.
Bewertung: Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor.
Merksatz: Ein guter Schliff bringt den Diamanten zum Leuchten.

Cut describes how precisely a diamond has been cut.
An excellent cut reflects light optimally and delivers maximum brilliance.
Grading: Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor.
Key point: A good cut makes the diamond come alive.

3. Color (Farbe)

Color beschreibt, wie farblos ein weißer Diamant ist.
Die Skala reicht von D (farblos) bis Z (deutlich getönt).
D–F: farblos
G–J: nahezu farblos
K–M: leicht getönt
N–Z: deutlich getönt
Merksatz: Je näher an D, desto farbloser und wertvoller.

Colour describes how colourless a white diamond is.
The scale ranges from D (colourless) to Z (noticeably tinted).
D–F: colourless
G–J: near-colourless
K–M: faint tint
N–Z: noticeable tint
Key point: The closer to D, the more colourless and valuable.

4. Clarity (Reinheit)

Clarity beschreibt die Reinheit eines Diamanten.
Bewertet werden innere Einschlüsse und äußere Merkmale.
Skala: FL, IF, VVS1/VVS2, VS1/VS2, SI1/SI2, I1/I2/I3.
Je weniger Einschlüsse vorhanden sind, desto höher sind Reinheit und Wert.
Merksatz: Weniger Einschlüsse bedeuten höhere Reinheit.

Clarity describes the purity of a diamond.
Both internal inclusions and external blemishes are assessed.
Scale: FL, IF, VVS1/VVS2, VS1/VS2, SI1/SI2, I1/I2/I3.
The fewer inclusions present, the higher the clarity and value.
Key point: Fewer inclusions mean higher clarity.
